Which of the following best describes the institution’s approach to rainwater management?:
No written policies, plans or guidelines, but green infrastructure and LID practices are used
A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
The institution has a long-standing practice of diverting stormwater runoff into natural swales, vegetated ditches, and developed retention ponds. Only 5.8% of campus is impervious, and a recent study found that over 80% of the impervious area at our West Campus facility flows into managed retention ponds or natural areas. We are designing published guidelines and have created maps to track runoff.
