A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
Paid student interns at the Office of Sustainability organize and present various outreach activities during the course of the academic year. Each event targets student populations.
Interns share printed and digital information, engage in conversation, and make recommendations for interested attendees.

Several events throughout the semester contribute to our outreach. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 shutdown in March 2020 has stopped our physical contact.

Community Action Team for Service (CATS)
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
Interactive program involving college students to serve as peer educators for local grade schools. The students assist local educational organizations with training and activities in water quality, nature studies, and waste management.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (2nd program):
Students become CATS (Community Action Team for Service) members through volunteering, service learning, or as paid employees through work-study or Graduate Assistantships. As a member of CATS, the students gain valuable leadership and group management skills as well as hands-on experiences of topics learned in the classroom.
