A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate, including efforts made during the previous three years:
Beginning in May 2013, we moved all academic and support buildings to a mandatory recycling program by removing waste bins from classrooms and offices. Wet waste is now deposited into common receptacles in break rooms and restrooms.
We are now working to promote recycling in residence halls, and have recently given out 500 recycling bins to students along with promotional and educational materials.

Cafeteria employees and student volunteer are working to transfer extra food to homeless shelters and local churches, part of a Campus Kitchen program.

A trial program is underway to develop a composting program for kitchen and dishpit waste. We are developing our processes and beginning to collect data.
