As part of the Washington, D.C. ban on plastic straws in restaurants and other businesses effective Jan. 1, 2019, GW's contractors are required to comply with the legislation. Additionally, the Office of Sustainability works on-campus vendors and GWorld dining partners to raise awareness of the legislation and build to capacity to comply with it.
