As part of the Washington DC College and University Sustainability Network, GW has shared best practice on large scale renewable energy, stormwater management, measuring sustainability performance, among other things, with Howard University, Georgetown University, and Gallaudet University.

GW hosts the annual DC Climathon to foster innovation to address climate change in Washington, DC. GW created a strategic partnership with Georgetown University, University of the District of Columbia and Gallaudet University to include their students, staff, and faculty in the program in 2017 as participants, mentors, and judges.
Additionally, the GW Planet Forward program brings together almost 20 universities from across the country to promote, teach, and reward storytelling to show young people how they can be effective in communication on sustainability. GW hosts and supports faculty and students to provide programming to their students.
