A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :

Mason includes sustainability in orientation through a variety of outlets:

All residential students receive a flyer that outlines Mason's environmental commitments and how their individual actions impact Mason's progress.

The Office of Sustainability hosts a 'Welcome to Sustainable Mason' event in the dining hall where campus sustainability is demonstrated. For instance, Transportation explains alternative transportation options and student interns provide peer education.

The greenhouse staff and volunteers provide tours to all new students, showing the greenhouse-to-dining hall process. They also encourage new students to volunteer in the greenhouses.

The Office of Sustainability hosts a brunch for the Sustainability Living-Learning Community where they discuss sustainable lifestyles.
