A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

Green Patriots is a student organization focused on peer-to-peer outreach that is designed to support Mason’s Office of Sustainability and various campus sustainability initiatives. The organization’s objectives are to ensure that students receive hands-on experience in the field of sustainability, become active stakeholders in helping to reduce Mason’s environmental impact, develop valuable green-job skills, and get the opportunity to develop and manage exciting and innovative green projects. A Green Patriot is an environmental leader on campus who will work with the Office of Sustainability and other campus environmental organizations to encourage the following:

~ Students in all academic disciplines to realize, advance and apply their education toward greening Mason
~ Undergraduate student initiatives for campus and local community-level sustainability projects
~ Facilitate partnerships between faculty, staff, students, and the community

The Office of Sustainability and veteran Green Patriots program train new Green Patriots members through discussions, learning materials, and hands-on experience.
