Yes

A brief description of how the physical campus plan or amendment includes sustainability:

Within George Mason University's (Mason) 2002 master plan, it incorporated strategies to efficiently use its land resources for development; promoted a pedestrian and bicycle friendly campus; outlined transportation strategies; and strategically preserved woodlands, wetlands, and waterways to maintain the campus image and provided for ecological diversity. It also established 'ecological corridors’ following drainage ways, streams, and topography, that buffered development, preserved essential natural features and provided for a connective network of walking trails and bikeways.

Within Mason's 2009 North Sector Master Plan and Design Guidelines, it built upon the 2002 master plan and encouraged a park concept; has sound practices for storm water management; restoration; resource efficiency; retention of natural species and habitat; and construction to LEED standards.
