A brief description of the program:

George Mason University (Mason) is a public institution of higher education within the state of Virginia. Therefore, it follows the procurement procedures and processes outlined by the state legislature. Within the Virginia Public Procurement Act dated July 2010, in section 2.2-4324 on page 23, it states that preference shall be given to goods produced in Virginia, goods or services or construction provided by Virginia persons, firms, or corporations. In Mason's requests for proposals, it gives preference to local products and businesses.
