Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Nursing Simulation Labs

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The only centre accredited in Canada by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, utilizes many differing sustainability initiatives for ethical, financial and social justice purposes.
Recycling plastic intravenous lines, intravenous bags, conducting our own laundry and 3D printing, the Centre is able to reduce cost, all the while leaving authentic supplies to be used on real patients in the hospital or community settings. The Centre does not maintain the risk or re-used supplies being used on real patients, as a result the creation and expansion of the program has been widely accepted by staff. The amount recycled annually continues to trend upwards meaning less in landfill and more available for the community.
