Fashion Exchange
George Brown College’s Fashion Exchange aims to model and foster innovative, ethical, and environmentally and socially sustainable production. FX is a vibrant hub where fashion education, design, production, entrepreneurship and engagement come together under one roof in the heart of downtown Toronto. With global fashion industry facing challenges of over-consumption, exploiting labour force and environmental resources, FX was designed to become a leader in sustainable fashion production. With the people and the planet in mind, it fosters a new generation of industry leaders - committed, professional, and ethical. FX brings together fashion educators, industry partners, community organizations, and fashion graduates to innovate for an increasingly sustainable, socially-conscious, and economically vibrant fashion industry. Fashion Exchange Leading Innovation in Fashion Technology (FX LIFT) will help fashion industry partners to achieve greater sustainability and technology adoption, become more competitive and realize a circular economy in the Canadian apparel sector.

Joe Fresh is a Canadian fashion brand and retail chain owned by Loblaw's Group of Companies. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we were unable to get a signed letter from its President, Ian Freeman expressing support for GBC's innovative research to support a sustainable closed-loop apparel economy. However a draft of the letter is included with this submission.
