A student-led effort to reduce food waste resulted in a partnership between Furman's dining service provider, Bon Appetit, and a local non-profit called Loaves and Fishes. The Food Recovery Network recognized the program as Food Recovery Verified in 2017.

Students can also donate their end-of-year Pden Points (meal credits) to the Loaves and Fishes local food recovery program.

Bon Appetit also maintains a Farm to Fork Program.
