After creating a Memo of Understanding (MOU), Olin College of Engineering and Greentown Labs officially entered into a partnership in fall 2021. The MOU increases networking and collaboration between the two entities, gives Greentown Labs preferential recruitment privileges at Olin career fairs, and allows Oliners to visit and tour Greentown’s Somerville campus at a discounted rate. Sally Phelps, Director of Post-Graduate Planning, is the liaison for this partnership.

Each summer, the Carroll Center is able to send at least 1 intern to work on accessibility-related projects at Olin. This summer, the intern worked on co-designing solutions with Olin researchers and partners from around the world. While the projects differ from year to year, the Carroll Center offers consultations and user testing for many of Olin’s design projects.

Teachers and students from Perkins have a history of working with Olin classes and research teams as consultants for classes and research projects. Some of the current collaborative projects include developing smartphone mobility technology and designing sensors for canes.
