A brief description of the institution’s library support for sustainability research:
Olin's library collection includes a growing number of "green" books and research papers, and the library is able to acquire more through the Minuteman Library Network and the state inter-library loan system. Additionally, the books for various classes, including Intro to Sustainability, are housed in the library.
Two student-led projects, Aquaponics and Hacking Hygiene, have also been housed in the library. Aquaponics is a system of sustainable gardening, and Hacking Hygiene is a program that teaches students to make their own cleaning products and personal hygiene products out of common groceries.
The Director of the Library is a part of the American Library Association, which passed a resolution outlining their commitment to sustainability: http://www.ala.org/aboutala/sites/ala.org.aboutala/files/content/governance/council/council_documents/2015_annual_council_documents/cd_36_substainable_libraries_resol_final.pdf
