11.1 Student wellbeing and assistance programs

As part of the Orientation program, Franklin staff talk with students about campus emergency procedures and provide them with numbers to call in case of emergency. There is always a Franklin Resident Assistant on call, and managing emergency situations is part of RA training.
For additional security, Franklin contracts security guards from Gruppo Sicurezza SA, who maintain a high level of surveillance on campus. The local police, fire department and ambulance services are also very responsive and have three-digit phone numbers for dialing quickly in emergencies.

A food pantry is located at the McNeely Center Student Lounge. Students are welcomed to access the food pantry when the lounge is open, or they can arrange a time with the Office of Student Life to access the food pantry at a time when other people are not around.

Employees have access to the Tone Athletic Center (TAC) located in the Lowerre Academic Center and the Tone Fitness Center (TFC) located in the McNeely Center of Ideas & Imagination.

The University's Strategic Plan for 2030 centers wellbeing as one of its primary pillars. In line with plan, Franklin launched a survey designed to inform the university's strategy for community wellbeing. It was designed to ensure that the university continues to meet the evolving diverse needs of every member of the Franklin community, whether student, faculty member, or part of the administrative staff.
