We have an ongoing program to encourage faculty and staff to utilize Switzerland's exceptional public transport system.

Yes

Description of the institution’s bicycle or scooter sharing program:

There is a local bike-sharing program called velopass that is available to all campus members. There is an annual fee of 25 CHF for the velopass which allows participants a 30 minute free rental per day. For every additional hour, a 1 CHF charge is implemented. The card acts as a credit system that members can add to as they wish. The initial fee includes 2 free hours. There are 6 rental stations located in the Lugano area.
Franklin recently began a pilot bike share program. We have several bikes that are available for student use.

Yes

Description of the institution’s car sharing or carpool program:

Franklin does not have a campus car-sharing program. Franklin faculty, students, and staff can participate in Switzerland's nationwide car-sharing program called "Mobility". Mobility has stations in over 1,500 locations with over 3,000 vehicles. The program gives its customers a Mobility card which charges customers 3.00 CHF per hour or 0.65 CHF per kilometer for a base vehicle. The vehicles are environmentally friendly, using fuel-efficient vehicles and offering customers the opportunity to buy carbon offsets.
