Does the institution have a program to reduce residence hall move-out waste?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program:
Similar to the waste reduction for moving in, the RAs and SGA offer the same recycling program, complete with reminders and instructions for proper recycling and waste reduction, as per Swiss law. Furthermore, there is a clothing swap organized by SGA allowing students to trade unwanted clothes instead of throwing them out. All clothing that is not picked up is donated. Lastly, according to Ms. Britt-Marie Muzi, Assistant Director of Office of Student Life, there is a program at the end of the year which encourages students to donate their unwanted linens, clothes, appliances, electronics, kitchen ware, and other goods to Mission Europea. This is a charity based in Madagascar and Brazil to provide materials to underprivileged or impoverished children. The donations by Franklin are specifically directed to the children inhabiting the poorest favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
