A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

According to Sean Essue, Director of the Information Technologies Services, all electronic waste produced by the university is recycled or reused per Swiss law. Furthermore, services are extended to students to allow them to donate or recycle their electronic waste.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

For electronic waste produced by the university, all expired materials are collected and stored until the Sorengo commune-wide pick up date. In cases of large amounts of donations or materials for recycling, the university organizes a personal pick up. All of the materials are then recycled according to Swiss national standards.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for student-generated materials :

Services offered to students allow them to donate materials in good condition, such as computers or monitors, to the university to reuse, as well as pick up for recycling. Electronic waste to be recycled can be left in students’ dormitories for pick up upon move-out. All materials gathered are recycled according to Swiss national standards.
