Does the institution have an ongoing program or programs that offer incentives for faculty in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses?:

In FIE's new faculty hiring process and orientation sessions, FIE's educational mission and articulated values are explicitly mentioned, with faculty being encouraged from the outset to incorporate FIE's values, including sustainability, into their courses.
Faculty are made aware of the 'Charting the Course' document, and if they have been hired to teach a new course, they are asked to map that course to FIE's four articulated values, including sustainability.
In 2014, FIE introduced it's StAG Champion Awards to recognise staff, faculty, students or partner institutions who make a notable contribution to FIE's sustainability initiatives in a given semester. To date, there have been three faculty recipients of the award. Recipients have been awarded for their commitment to embedding sustainability into their course (e.g. Contemporary British Theatre), and for involvement in FIE's sustainability lectures series and sustainability film.
Since 2012, FIE has also awarded an annual outstanding faculty award, and commitment to FIE's values is considered in the review of nominations.
Faculty are also encouraged to engage as faculty ambassadors in FIE's Student Switch Off Campaign (http://studentswitchoff.org/unis/FIE/), which is run in partnership with NUS (https://www.nus.org.uk). Faculty are encouraged to set a good example to their students by switching off and saving energy in FIE's teaching buildings, as well as conserving resources when developing teaching materials.
FIE also has a faculty development fund that faculty can access for professional development purposes.
FIE has a faculty resources area on it's Moodle Virtual Learning Environment 'MyStudy@FIE' (http://mystudy.fie.org.uk) which includes resources for faculty to assist them in integrating sustainability into their courses.
New course proposals are considered in line with FIE's educational mission and articulated values.
Faculty are supported in developing new ways to embed sustainability into their courses. For example, in Fall 2016 a new sustainability assessment was trialled successfully within a section of the British Life and Culture course, which is now being trialled more widely. The assessment includes a neighbourhood research element and the brief is as follows:
Your neighbourhood research paper should focus on your primary research findings with its emphasis on your chosen environmental topic. In addition, it should reference how the design, implementation and evaluation of your neighbourhood observation was informed by the broader definition of sustainability as explained in the film and through your secondary research.
