2.1 Student sustainability organization
Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the sustainability-focused student organization(s):
LC Environmental Club: This Club's primary mission is to spread the incredible importance and value of environmentalism and sustainability. This encompasses a wide range of different issues and subjects, from the personal decisions of consumption we make on a daily basis, all the way to the structural organization of our society as a whole. Throughout all these different levels, we will discuss what changes and adjustments can be made in order to live in a more harmonious way with our home planet, geared towards respecting, revering, and utilizing the scarce resources and environment we have inherited, and will one day pass on to the future inhabitants of our amazingly rare Earth! RH Students for Environmental Awareness and Justice: As the Students for Environmental Awareness and Justice club (SEAJ), we seek to engage Fordham students in issues of environmental consciousness affecting Fordham University, the greater Bronx and NYC community, and our global environment. We seek to inspire and encourage activism in our urban environment by fostering open dialogue, facilitating opportunities for community outreach, and holding social events focused on sustainability. We are an up-and-coming club at Fordham University, with our main support on the Rose Hill Campus and a branch at Lincoln Center. RH United Student Government Committee on Sustainability: The United Student Government (USG) Sustainability Committee seeks to make our university a sustainable institution. We believe that as a Jesuit university, Fordham has a responsibility to care for the continuing health of the planet and its people. Our objective is to pursue concrete, effective initiatives that advance the goal of a healthy, viable future. We push every student, faculty, and staff member to reduce their present environmental impact while also seeking to imbue them with a long-term sustainable mindset. Fordham Environmental Law Review: The Fordham Environmental Law Review is a student-edited journal focusing on a broad range of domestic and international environmental issues ranging from the regulation of air, water, and soil pollution to social policy issues such as corporate responsibility and environmental racism. Fordham Graduate Net Impact: A student-run club at the Gabelli School of Business that promotes socially responsible and environmentally sustainable practices in business.
Business For Climate Change: The purpose of this organization is to help undergraduate students, particularly those with a special interest in purpose-driven business and ESG (Environmental, Social, and corporate Governance), to break into sustainable industries by providing supplementary knowledge and networking opportunities. These industries include, but are not limited to: renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, water and waste management, sustainability consulting, and climate investing. To accomplish this goal, Business for Climate Change will host panelist speaker events with industry professionals, informational sessions that educate club members about specific industries, and career development sessions that aim to clarify information such as recruiting timelines and in-demand skills.

Feminists Alliance: We are an FCLC club organization that focuses on the education and promotion of intersectional feminism both on- and off-campus. Dedicated to the empowerment of women and trans and nonbinary folx, we actively engage in discussions that uplift and amplify one another’s voices to further our agenda of intersectionality, acceptance, and gender equality. We promote discourse that raises consciousness among our communities in hopes of promoting a deeper understanding of the fact that feminist issues are multifaceted and intrinsically linked to different intersecting forms of oppression.
Amani Students for Fair Trade: The heart of the program is the Fair Trade and Microfinance Consulting Project. Through this effort, a select group of students hone their business acuity through hands-on sales, inventory, accounting, and marketing of close to 100 products from artisan groups in developing countries like Kenya. The students meet these artisans during overseas trips and then bring back the products, which are then offered by their ISL company, called Amani, which means “peace” in Swahili.
