The Sustainable Campus office develops and disseminates a weekly sustainability newsletter sent via email to individuals that sign up at events or on our website. The newsletter contains information on upcoming sustainability events on campus and in the community, volunteer opportunities, and internships. Currently, the sustainability newsletter has over 4,168 readers.

The FSView student newspaper regularly covers campus wide sustainability events and news. Additionally, as the Sustainable Campus office is a member of the Capital Area Sustainability Council, staff regularly develop articles to be published in “Greening Our Community,” a weekly column in the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper.

The Sustainable Campus website, newsletter, and further publications share student sustainability research. The office of Undergraduate Research maintains the FSU Undergraduate Research Journal which is dedicated to publishing student research. Also, the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is an opportunity for student researchers to showcase their work to the university community. The symposium is an interdisciplinary event where hundreds of student researchers present their work as oral and poster presentations.

Sodexo, FSU’s dining partner, posts signs throughout all dining locations highlighting local produce, Fresh from Florida ingredients, produce from Sodexo supported farms, vegetarian, and vegan selections. Signs also include ‘Ask for a sample’ to encourage students to taste an item before placing it on their plate to reduce food waste. Food Recovery Network signs and pamphlets are located in student cafeterias encouraging volunteering on campus to reduce food waste. Sodexo also produces guides for eating vegetarian and vegan for each dining location on campus to ensure sustainable food choices are available and known by students.

The FSU Sustainability app includes a navigational map of all the hydration stations located throughout the university. The app also contains sustainable features on campus as well as points of interest such as LEED buildings, gardens, and solar panels.

FSU highlights sustainable commuting through a variety of resources to educate the FSU community about alternative transportation services on and around campus. Both the Sustainable Campus and Transportation and Parking Services websites offer a list of available services and numerous publications are produced and distributed at various campus events.

Commuter Services of North Florida, stationed in the College of Business also hosts numerous resources for sustainable transportation.
