A brief description of the campus climate assessment(s) :

The institution has also assessed through a Campus Climate Survey conducted in the fall of 2014. This survey aims at assessing inclusion and diversity within the workplace based upon responses from faculty and staff. The survey is used to establish baseline data on current conditions around the topic of diversity and inclusion.

Yes

A brief description of the student diversity and educational equity assessment(s):

Annual National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) survey is administered to first-year and senior-year student regarding participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for learning and personal development.
Diversity-related questions include:
- Included diverse perspectives (different races, religions, genders, political beliefs, etc) in class discussions or writing assignments (academic and intellectual experiences).
- Encouraging contact among students from different economic, social, and racial or ethnic backgrounds (institutional environment).
- Understanding people of other racial and ethnic backgrounds (educational and personal growth).

Results are used to identify aspects of the undergraduate experience inside and outside the classroom that can be improved through changes in policies and practices more consistent with good practices in undergraduate education.

A brief description of the employee diversity and employment equity assessment(s):

The institution prepares an annual Affirmative Action Plan . This plan utilizes data, primarily quantitative, to determine whether benchmarks (external and internal) are being met with regard to the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce, to include faculty and staff. The data is analyzed from a number of vantage points including, race, salary, gender, job groups and disability and veteran status. From this analysis the institution is able construct and implement policy and practice with the goal of maintaining a diverse workforce.
