A brief description of the institution’s indoor air quality program(s) (including information about regular auditing or monitoring, mechanisms for occupants to register complaints, and action plans):
E&G space is covered by a steam cleaning program to improve indoor air quality. Air conditioning units are steam sterilized resulting in excellent indoor air quality. According to mold swabs, this process kills all measurable biological material on the mechanical air conditioning equipment. The IAQ practices include routine coil cleaning: EH&S investigates and monitors conditions and potential contaminants as requested by users, and a preventive maintenance program for all HVAC systems. In addition, products with high VOC levels such as chemical coil cleaning projects are largely banned on campus in favor of a steam cleaning process.
