The Office of University Sustainability utilizes social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook to reach out to and engage with FIU students and the community.

The FIU Palmetum features one of the largest university collections of palm trees in the United States. More than 60 species are featured on campus, including protected species, and there is educational signage throughout.
Dining locations have wall graphics and digital display screens highlighting how Panther Dining promotes sustainability through programs such as OZZI reusable containers, Waste Not, and Plastics if You Ask. Local produce partners are featured on wall signage in the main dining facility.

The Office of University Sustainability produced a tour of the FIU Nature Preserve, the 11-acre environmental education facility. The tour includes stops at the Pine Rockland ecosystem, a limestone outcropping, and at specimen trees.
