FIU's Office of Research and Economic Development provided the research awards data. Office of University Sustainability staff reviewed fiscal year 2023 awards to determine which projects addressed the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
The spreadsheet provided includes:
1. Project award granted during fiscal year 2023.
2. Name of the principal investigator (PI).
3. A link to the PI’s page on FIU Discovery, biography on another FIU site, or a published article.
4. The U.N. Sustainable Development Goals posted on the PI’s published articles when available. Please note the SDGs may not correlate to the listed project award.
When possible, centers doing research such as the ARC Applied Research Center were counted under the academic division in which they operate, and the division was counted as a department. Also included as academic departments were the International Hurricane Center, the Embrace Center for Advancing Inclusive Communities, the Office of the Provost, and FIU Libraries.
