Florida International University’s Institutional Repository serves as a centralized access point for peer-reviewed scholarship, creative works, and history of the university community. The repository is hosted by Berkley Electronic Press (BePress), which boasts a network of about 655 institutions across the globe. Our repository hosts over 29,000 open access articles, reports, presentations, images, and videos from over 65 departments and centers across the university.

FIU no longer offers such a fund due to budget limitations, but we do offer some discounts for authors who want to publish in OA (open access) journals. A brief description of the open access journal hosting services:

The Florida International University Libraries provide free open access journal hosting services to the university community through our Institutional Repository Digital Commons. Blind and double-blind peer review processes and editorial management services are built into the system functionality. Journal site design is offered at no cost to university groups creating new journals or transferring hosting. Information regarding submitting work to FIU’s Institutional Repository, Digital Commons, can be found here: https://library.fiu.edu/fiudigitalcommons/tools

 

FIU Libraries has its own journal for publishing the work of librarians and library affiliates. This is an in-house journal. There is a peer-review process associated with being published in this journal. Information on the journal, Athenaeum, and the process can be found here: https://library.fiu.edu/athenaeum.
