A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
The literacy assessment was developed by looking at sample assessments from other universities to gather question ideas. The Office of University Sustainability team went through all potential questions, edited them as needed, and then sent test questions to interns to get feedback. The questions went through this cycle a few times until finalizing the current version. It was decided that this version would be sent out as a pilot with the sustainability culture assessment.

The assessment was sent via an online survey tool to students, faculty, and staff in the FIU School of Environment, Arts, and Society. It was open for completion for a brief period of time to get feedback so that it could be amended and then sent out to a larger campus population.
