A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
- The university again utilized the streamline method of counting courses as in STARS Tech. Manual 2.2. Each course offered in the Florida Institute of Technology course catalog was counted for AY 2018/19 regardless of the number of sections each semester. The number of times that sustainability focused and sustainability related courses were offered were then generated from FIT's catalog in combination with info on related metrics from the Office of Institutional Research.
- Between AY 2017-18 and AY 2018-19, the two largest colleges on campus merged into one and the 13 departments within merged into 7 total just within the new, merged College of Engineering and Science. There were also various changes to course prefixes and some program codes. We have carefully processed the catalog info for the time duration of this study.
- In the second worksheet of the file , when inputting information for the sustainable inclusive program codes, repetitive program codes were not included. This allowed us to expedite data entry and subsequent counting with a focus on identifying new program codes that were not repeated.
