A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
The Pedal Power Bike program is a bike share system in place to decrease traffic congestion, limit carbon emissions and encourage health and physical exercise at FGCU and the surrounding community. Bike Sharing is practiced all over the country in many different settings and the Pedal Power program is FGCU’s commitment to incorporate these initiatives into campus life. The program allows students to check out a bike and helmet free of charge for up to a week.

FGCU participates with Commute Connector which is a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program of the Florida Department of Transportation, providing service to residents or employees of Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, Polk and Sarasota counties.
Commute Connector offers:
-Ridematching service to connect commuters to their options
-Rewards commuters who use alternative transportation options to get to work
-Emergency Ride Home (ERH) reimbursement program

LEED PARKING DECAL- Energy Efficient and Low Emitting Vehicles
To promote the use of low emitting and fuel efficient vehicles, preferred parking is provided at certain locations. The preferred parking spaces are restricted for use by vehicles that have been registered with Parking Services and issued a FGCU LEED parking decal. You may check the link below to determine if your vehicle qualifies. To register a qualified vehicle you must contact Parking Services to set up an appointment to have your vehicle inspected to ensure that it qualifies.
Faculty/Staff with LEED qualifying vehicles may obtain an annual/reserved parking permit at a discounted price.

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:
FGCU has a total of 12 electric vehicle charging parking spots thanks to a donation by Florida Power & Light (FPL). There are 6 spots in Parking Garage #1 and 6 in Parking Garage #2. Currently it is being run as a free service. The chargers are universal, compatible with all electric cars, as well as plug-in hybrids. Drivers utilize https://www.chargepoint.com/ to gain access to the charging stations.

FGCU has bike repair stations and public showers on campus to promote bicycle commuting. Each bike fixit station comes equipped with a bike pump and all the equipment required to carry out simple bicycle maintenance and repairs, such as replacing a flat tire and adjusting brakes and derailleurs.
FGCU has partnered with The GOAT Guys, a locally owned micro-mobility company, to provide e-scooters on campus.
