Building signage has started with our first academic building built to LEED standards. This LEED platinum building has signs demonstrating the sustainable practices both inside the building as well as outside. These include, but are not limited to the following: -signs that explain how campus buildings are designed to reduce heat islands
-signs that tell the benefit of biking and where to find showers and lockers on campus so that biking is a more feasible mode of transit in the heat.

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:
Campus Naturalists lead tours and educates classes about FGCU environmental and sustainability initiatives such LEED certified buildings, our energy conservation measures, and recycling programs. Campus Naturalists act as a liaison to the campus community and particularly University Colloquium students. Most importantly, naturalists act as peer interpreters, helping students connect to the campus ecosystem and the wild side of Florida - including campus trails, native and exotic wildlife, wetland and upland ecosystems, natural and cultural resources and conservation areas. https://www.fgcu.edu/colloquium/campusnaturalists
The Welcome Center tour guides point out bike racks and bike repair stations, LEED certified buildings, solar compactors and recycling bins, and residential dining's onsite garden. They also talk about FGCU's efficient cooling system and electricity generated from our solar field.

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:
The Office of Housing and Residence Life is committed to creating a greener environment for its residents. They have a committee that develops sustainability initiatives for residents and their operational staff works to coordinate the Green Eagle Move Out, which ensures that move out wastes are minimized. The Office of Housing's Sustainability Committee has also participated in and sponsored other educational events for their residents, including freecycle swaps, sustainability BINGO, "Water You Doing" single-use bottle minimization campaign, Go Green on the Green, Eagles' Earth Day, etc. They produce a variety of green living tutorials that show on public screens while students wait for the campus shuttle and also on the closed circuit viewing in resident's apartments.
