1. Florida Gulf Coast University is part of the State of Florida's Blue-Green Algae Task force that put together a package of policy recommendations that was incorporated into laws that came out of the last legislative session to reduce widespread nutrient pollution which essentially fertilizes algal blooms that can produce toxins linked to a variety of human and animal health problems. https://www.news-press.com/story/tech/science/environment/2020/07/29/blue-green-algae-task-force-members-tackle-algae-warnings-first-meeting-since-october/5511427002/
2.
