Employees should complete a Near Miss Report for all near miss potential hazards or incidents that did not result in a injury, illness, or damage but could have.

These presentations, forms and videos prepare employees to protect themselves and others, prevent accidents, and appropriately respond in the event of an incident or near miss. We established 2012-13 as our baseline year and 2013-14 as our performance year so we could begin to evaluate the effectiveness of these safety training materials.


A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives:

In addition to providing all new employees with safety training, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) leads fire drill training, laboratory safety inspections, and works to ensure hurricane and disaster preparedness. EHS regularly gives presentation on blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste control and minimization, and other safety topics. http://www.fgcu.edu/EHS/workplacesafety.html
