Description of the methodology used to assess the institution’s bid solicitations:

Bid solicitations are assessed by an Evaluation team that consists of a cross functional team from relevant areas of the University. The Evaluation Teams are chaired by a Procurement Category Manager, and are conducted in accordance with the Evaluation and Probity Plan for that process.

Additionally, 5% is the minimum allocated weighting for Social Procurement, which incorporates Sustainability, Indigenous Procurement, Modern Slavery, and other relevant issues, including Social Enterprises.

As part of our Reconcilliation Action Plan Flinders University is a member of Supply Nation, which provides us access to Australia’s leading database of verified Indigenous businesses with options for procurement.

This is reflected in our Procurement policy which includes ths statement about Ethical, sustainable and social responsibility: iv. be a socially inclusive organisation which does not discriminate and provides equal opportunity for all peoples’ including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures, as established in the Flinders University Reconciliation Action Plan, and the Indigenous Procurement Strategy.

Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC, www.oric.gov.au), lower quotation

Supply Nation reported spend data for spend with Indigenous businesses - ABN match against Supply Nation certified suppliers.  

Spend data retrieved from Supply Nation Spend Tracker website for the relevant quarters of 2023.
