Description of the methodology used to complete the research inventory:

Our sustainability research inventory can be found on our Research at Flinders portal:  https://researchnow.flinders.edu.au/en/publications/

Flinders University added SDGs to our Pure database of publications, using the queries and machine learning component used in the 2023 THE Impact Rankings (Elsevier / SciVal method). All research outputs are searchable for SDGs via the menu in the left hand column.

This was accompanied by an information campaign to our academics to explain what it means to have research outputs aligned with SDGs.

From now on, our system (called ResearchNow) will automatically attribute SDGs to publications retrieved from Scopus, by analysing key words within the title, abstract, and other key bibliographic data. These assignments will align to classifications found in external academic databases, and mirror how our academics' research is being categorised within the broader academic community. Research outputs can have no SDGs, one SDG or a number of SDGs as applicable. After a researcher has successfully claimed their output, and it's published on the public portal, the associated SDGs will be displayed alongside the publication.

Attached is a report with all publications in 2021, 2022 and 2023, with their SDGs.
