Institution’s highest student voter participation rate in a local or national election or referendum held during the previous five years:
Description of the election or referendum in which the participation rate was achieved:
It is compulsory for all Australians over the age of 18 to vote in local and federal elections and referendums. (https://www.aec.gov.au/about_aec/publications/voting/). Even though we do not have specific numbers for our students, the expectation is that they would follow the general voter participation rate. For the 2022 federal election the voter turnout for South Australia was 91% (https://results.aec.gov.au/27966/Website/HouseTurnoutByState-27966.htm) and for the South Ausrtalia state election in 2022 it was 89% (https://www.abc.net.au/news/elections/sa/2022/results?filter=all&sort=az)
