Counselling and Wellness Services available for all students are coordinated through the Student Services Department and services are available for all full-time employees (including Partial-load faculty). In a collaborative effort between HR & Student services, a cross-organizational Mental Health Strategy for both students and employees that speaks to education and prevention as part of overall wellness and engagement has been included in the College Business Plans. Since 2015, Fleming College's "Wellness at Fleming" initiative is intended as a holistic wellness framework for all employees (including casual/part-time status) that integrates programs and services for personal well-being with Fleming college's vision, mission, and values. Through these initiatives, employees are encouraged to embrace and model personal lifestyle habits that reflect healthy eating, active living, and effective stress management. Lunch and learn sessions /activities are offered at various times during the year in collaboration with our Fitness & Health Promotions program which allows employees to learn from the knowledge of the second year F&HP students. Sessions are also offered through our Employee Assistance Plan. In 2018, Fleming launched a series of training workshops for developing mindfulness techniques. This is available to all Fleming faculty and staff to support health and wellness through managing stress. The EAP has resources to assist eligible employees to identify solutions to challenges at any age and stage of life including physical health, finance, legal, work/career, mental health, etc. All full-time employees and those partial-load faculty who have signed up for coverage are eligible to access this benefit.
