A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Fleming conducts an employee engagement survey every two, or two and a half years, with results being posted on the College website. All employees are invited to engage in the survey. The 2018 survey received a 70% response rate.
The 2018 survey results revealed that 73% of respondents were satisfied/agreed with statements regarding a positive work environment.
Following the survey, a plan is underway to support the new (2019-2024) strategic plan commitment to "Empower Employees" by developing an Employee-Management Engagement Strategy.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
Each division of the College was provided with a detailed summary (by Fleming's Institutional Research Office) "Areas of Strength" and "Opportunities for Improvement". Each division has been directed to hold discussions with staff and identify two areas to focus on with regard to "Opportunities for Improvement" and develop an action plan. The College's Senior Team has selected two corporate priorities.
