A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

Full-Time Faculty Orientation Description - The New Faculty Experience is designed to support new faculty to collaborate and continuously develop exceptional instructional and assessment practices. This program emphasizes faculty practicing high-impact instructional skills and practices in a low stakes, collegial environment, to receive constructive feedback throughout their first year of full-time faculty employment with Fleming College. New faculty also attend Focus on Learning Eastern Conference two 3 day intensive days focusing on networking across the Eastern Conference colleges.
Outreach for Sustainability to all faculty (full time and contract) is done through Teaching and Learning Days such as workshops on Incorporating the 17 SDGs and Teaching and Learning Boot Camps. As well, the Office of Sustainability communicates with all faculty and staff through all-staff communications about sustainability initiatives across the college (such as the Water Refill Challenge). The OOS also offers one-day workshops to all faculty (and staff) such as the Indigenous Knowledge 1-day workshop and the AASHE 1 day workshop Building Sustainability into the Curriculum.
Guidance materials - The Teaching Hub is issued weekly to all faculty (full time and contract faculty) and highlights access to resources for faculty (such as Cultural Competency for Faculty, students (for example Indigenous Student Services programs and offerings as well as International student programs), professional development opportunities (for example promoting our AASHE 1 day workshop on Sustainability in the Curriculum)
