The Ecosystem Management program highlights a sustainable approach to managing human activities within ecosystems. Graduates are able to contribute to the health of ecosystems while also keeping in consideration the needs of society, in order to help governments, conservation groups and wildlife organizations practice environmentally sustainable planning for the future.

Urban forestry focuses on the care, protection, and maintenance of trees, forests and green spaces in towns and cities. It's caring for "the green in the gray". Involves balancing, integrating, and linking the social, economic, environmental, and conservation-related issues associated with the urban forest and community spaces. The UN Sustainable Development Goals are incorporated into two courses in this program.

Ecological Restoration - Joint BSc Degree with Trent University

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (3rd program):
Ecological Restoration is an emerging discipline that focuses on assisting the recovery of degraded, damaged or destroyed ecosystems. It is designed for students to "become a leader in the Science of Hope... by helping to restore our natural environment for present and future generations". The collaborative Ecological Restoration program developed by Trent University and Fleming College provides a bold and innovative solution to this challenge. The program: Is interdisciplinary with a foundation of a science-based curriculum. Is broad-based to develop an understanding of the big picture - and comprehend ecological principles that can be transferred to any ecosystem and adapted to any project. The program was also designed to improve traditional college students' access to a university degree. Is integrated to combine applied learning, field skills and experience with theoretical and scientific knowledge and principles. It provides opportunities for field camps, field courses, and a capstone course. It encourages and supports students who seek out internships and international opportunities and offers a unique combination of college and university cultures.
