A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
'Fleming College follows the municipal and provincial guidelines and policies, which state specific requirements in terms of stormwater management, e.g. drainage of parking lots, stormwater ponds, swales etc.
'Bio-swales along the roads and engineered storm water pond with outlet control. Parking lot run-off is captured in bio-swales and treated before entering the groundwater or creek. Conveyence controls and end-of-pipe controls were used in the construction of the new technology centre. Lot level controls were incorporated in the design of the new sports fields.
Fleming College follows the municipal and provincial guidelines and policies, which state specific requirements in terms of stormwater management, e.g. drainage of parking lots, stormwater ponds, swales etc. Some LID practices are also demonstration projects, e.g. Green Roof.

Haliburton campus harvests rainwater for use in toilets. Rainwater harvesting system on the Kawartha Trades and Technology Center. Campus does not measure the volume of rainwater harvested. CAWT treats wastewater prior to releasing to municipal system. Sutherland uses wet pond to capture rainwater and remove contaminants prior to releasing to municipal system. Bio-swale along the road, engineered stormwater pond, green roof. Sutherland campus maintains a stormwater retention pond that serves entire campus and removes 80% of TSS.

Frost campus has partial vegetated roof consisting of various teaching models of green roof technology. Native grasses and plants, as well as mosses and succulents are grown on the green roof
