Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Fleming College is a member of the Sustainable Peterborough Steering Committee which is led by the City, Country and First Nations governments in the region and covers every aspect of sustainability (water, energy, economic development, land restoration, agriculture) in the area. The Steering Committee makes key decisions about priorities in each of these areas and oversees the reporting on actions to meet targets and goals through an Annual Report Card. http://sustainablepeterborough.ca/ In addition, Fleming College participates in, and advises on, the Climate Change Action Plan being developed under the umbrella of Sustainable Peterborough.

Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Fleming College is part of the Committee of Presidents of Colleges Ontario, working with the Ontario Minister of Environment and Climate Change to identify areas where Colleges can support and advance the Provincial Climate Change Strategy and Legislation.

Does the institution advocate for public policies that support campus sustainability or that otherwise advance sustainability at the national level?:
Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the national level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Fleming College was a signatory a Global Call to Action on Climate Change and joined with universities, colleges and student networks from around the world to recognize the vital role of post-secondary institutions in addressing climate change. An open letter was presented to Governments and Ministers gathering next week at the United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP 21) meeting on climate change at which both our Canadian Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment were present. The letter states that, “We believe that our university and college members are pioneers and demonstrators in modelling and piloting effective climate and sustainable development practices.” The full text of the letter can be found here http://educationalliance.global. Fleming College is also a signatory to the Association of Community Colleges of Canada Pan-Canadian Protocol on Sustainability.
