Brief descriptions of up to 4 recent notable accomplishments by faculty engaged in sustainability research, including names and department affiliations:

From Dan Caston: I have an article being published in the Journal of Sustainability Education titled Curriculum Design with Sustainability in Mind: Reflections on a Process. It is a case study on the development of sustainability education curriculum in higher ed in which I use my experience bringing forth the Stewardship Toward Sustainability certificate. I think it will be in the second part of the spring edition due out in the next two weeks or so. If not it will be in the fall edition. I’ll let you know when it is out. Also, my dissertation proposal was accepted and I start collecting and analyzing interviews this summer. The working title is Transformative Experiences with Nature: A Phenomenological Inquiry. One of my main arguments is that the perceived distancing from nature in industrialized society promotes unsustainable lifestyle practices personally and culturally. However, for some people, deep experiences with nature promote biophilic responses coupled with deep play. Being in this state may recall in them what Edith Cobb calls “intuitive attunement” with nature. For some, this recall promotes changes in values and behaviors toward a more sustainable lifestyle. I should be finished in May 2014.
