A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

The campus has an informal sustainability plan in the form of the following: Strategic Plan, CAP, Sustainability Policy and Coalition, Stormwater Master Plan, Strategic Energy and Water Plan, LEED Building Policy, MCD Management and Disposal Policy, ACUPCC signatory, Multiple Recycling Programs. The Sustainability Coalition, that oversees the development of the above policies and programs consists of the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Provost, Sustainability Officer, Director of Sustainability, Energy Manager, Faculty Senate Chair, Staff Senate Chair, SGA President, Student President of The Green Team and other key employees.


A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

To mention a few:
- Interim goal of total net GHG emissions of 25,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO2E) by 2025
- New buildings are a minimum of LEED-NC “Silver” rating; 20% electrical and natural gas savings in new buildings
- Improve space utilization and scheduling to allow extended setback of building systems during non-occupied periods; 12% electrical and natural gas savings, savings applies to all buildings, savings ramp up from 3% (2014) to 12% (2017)
- Adopt an energy-efficient appliance purchasing policy requiring purchase of ENERGY STAR certified products in all areas for which such ratings exist
- Encourage use of and provide access to public transportation for all faculty, staff, students and visitors at our institution

Measure the campus' GHG inventory every other year; track energy consumption data; get proposed policies and/or programs approved and into place; etc.
