A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contribute to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
The campus requires contractors on new construction projects to pursue construction waste management LEED credits. This allows contractors to divert construction and demolition debris from disposal in the local landfill by redirecting recyclable recovered resources back to the manufacturing process through local recycling sites. Tonnages above were from the campus' only two new construction projects: Renaissance Hall and the Science and Technology Building.
