A brief description of the event(s):

The Green Team hosts environmental films throughout the year and usually has an expert in the particular field of study, that relates to the film shown, to lead a group discussion following the film. Past examples include: 3/19/2012- "Addicted to Plastic," with The Green Team's Co-Advisor, Jon Parsons, PE, PEM, FSU's Energy Manager (who for seven year's and just prior to being by FSU in summer 2011, was the Executive Director of Sustainable Sandhills) led the group discussion; another example 2/21/2012- "The Yes Men Fix the World."

The University's School of Business and Economics has hosted two National Green Business Conferences, the first in 2010 and again in 2011, both in late March. http://www.uncfsu.edu/ce/index.htm

The University's Faculty Sustainability and Disaster Recovery Research Group in partnership with Sustainable Sandhills hosted an "Awakening the Dreamer" Symposium for faculty, staff, students and the community on 6/26/2010 from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. http://www.uncfsu.edu/chemistry/faculty/mattox.htm

The Green Team hosted an interactive "Climate Awareness Presentation" in partnership with the Alliance for Climate Education on 11/22/2010 with over 75 students in attendance. Participates left after vowing to "do one thing" (DOT), such as unplugging unused cell phone chargers, etc.
