A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
Fanshawe has a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Sustainability Action Plan (2023-2030), created through cross-college collaboration and validation. Its action plan contributes to the four pillars of the SDGS: leadership & culture; operations; learning, research, and innovation; and community engagement (partnerships). The first short-term action item was to sign the SDG Accord, which President Devlin did in March 2024. Over the past couple of years, the College has contributed the most to SDG4 Quality Education, SDG8 Decent work and economic growth, and SDG13 Climate Action.

Innovation Village will be a physical and virtual hub where students will discover one-stop supports and exceptional learning. It will include collaborative work spaces, virtual reality and multimedia labs, a makerspace, project rooms, research support and cutting edge equipment.
Having space for students and staff to be creative is conducive to their quality education and wellbeing. This space includes the Kalihwiyo Circle, which is a tribute to Indigenous Stories and an acknowledgement upon the traditional lands on which Fanshawe operates. There are physical features of Innovation Village that contribute to life on land; for example, there are specialized windows that help prevent birds from flying into them.

Third Point of Distinction
A brief description of the third program/initiative/accomplishment:
The Indigenous Action Plan supports the implementation of Truth and Reconciliation. Key targets of the IAP include the following: achieve parity in the College domestic post-secondary student population equivalent to the Indigenous proportion of the Ontario population by 2025 (note: on track, enrolment continues to increase among first year Indigenous students), provide Indigenous Awareness/Competency training to staff annually; incorporate Indigenous Learning Outcomes in specific programs; among other targets. The College's implementation of this action plan contributes to reducing inequalities by addressing structural inequities embedded within post-secondary institutions (e.g., in recruitment, registration, teaching and learning, health and support services, etc.)
