A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:
Work is underway on Fanshawe's Campus Energy Centre (CEC), which will centralize the College’s cooling and heating equipment. The CEC will be completed in many phases over a 10+ year plan (CEC road map) and as capital funding becomes available.
The first phase of the project will be a new chilled water facility. The building will initially provide 3,000 tonnes of new cooling capacity. Three new chillers, three cooling towers, chilled water, condenser water pumps and a new electrical service will provide the College with years of capacity and reliability while reducing energy & maintenance costs.
The new building and distribution piping will be capable of expanding as the College’s needs change and as we connect more of our existing buildings when the current cooling equipment needs renewal.
