Fanshawe College uses 2 Oscar Sorts, an AI waste management platform that scans waste items and instructs the users on which bin their waste belongs to. This AI technology is found in high-student-density areas such as DEF Junction and Colvin Atrium. Adequate signages are placed to ensure that students and staff understand how it operates. https://intuitiveai.ca/oscar-sort

When data shows the community consistenly mis-sorts an item, a targeted info campaign will be planned to improve education.

Color-coded bins and signages with photos and labels are placed all over the campus to help students and staff properly dispose their wastes.

Part of the Fanshawe Sustainability portal is dedicated to helping students and employees live more sustainably. Examples include "Sustainable Lifestyle Tips" with subheadings of "Food Sustainability", "Energy Sustainability", "Waste Management", and "Transportation Sustainability". This site is password-protected, so a PDF has been uploaded.
