It’s a Bioblitz-style competition where cities are in a friendly contest with each other to see who can make the most observations of nature. Species occurrence data collected through the City Nature Challenge helps scientists and planners to keep track of rare species and their habitat, so they can be better protected in the future. The CNC requires (1) plan ahead & prepare, (2) leave what you find, (3) respect wildlife, (4) travel on durable surfaces.
