The college reviews custodial cleaning products for "Green Seal" approved before any new products are used by college staff. When purchasing new custodial products from a company the college always ask for samples to review the product and to be sure it has a Green Seal.

There are timers for temperature control in all buildings on campus. Timers are set using a combination of both occupancy sensors and time of day scheduling. All new buildings are designed to be compatible with our automation system.
Fanshawe College uses Honey Well for energy monitoring for benchmark and performance monitoring, and energy usage monitoring and adjustment. The College has ECDM plans every five years with action plans and reduction goal.

Water use is tracked and any anomalies or increases in use are investigated.
All new plumbing and fixtures are low-flow, and when old fixtures are replaced, it is standard practice to install low-flow.
